Dear Parents/Guardians:

          August has been a focused month of learning. We appreciate efforts to have children at school daily. We believe communication is a key part of every child’s learning. If you have not already done so, please make sure you are connected to your child(ren)’s teacher on the Class Dojo.

This year’s school motto is “We are C.O.U.G.A.R.S. Confident, Organized, Unique, Generous, Astounding, Responsible, Superior”. The theme was given to us by 7^th grader Kindy Ward. With the new motto, means new school spirit shirts. Spirit shirts have arrived, and we will be doing an all-school picture next Wednesday, September 4^th.

Tuesday, September 3^rd, is Mid-Trimester for the First Trimester of School. It is amazing to think we have almost accomplished six weeks of instruction. Mid-Trimester reports will be mailed home on Tuesday, September 10^th.

School Councils are starting to become active. Anti-Bully Representatives (ABRs) were chosen from each grade. Kindergarten- Braydon Mills, 1st Grade- Ron Turlington, 2nd Grade- Brian Mills, 3rd Grade- Juliette Cisneros, 4th Grade- Max Danks, 5th Grade- Mia Juan, 6th Grade- Aaliyah Montano, 7th Grade- Daniel Barton, 8th Grade- Tara Hintz. ABR Advisor this year will be Mrs. Coker. Some of our Congress Elementary School students have been hitting the campaign trail in hopes to gain support for their offices in the 2024-2025 Student Council. Voting will take place Thursday, August 29^th. Good Luck to all our candidates. We will post the new Student Council next week.

Don’t forget school picture day is coming up on September 18^th. More information will be going home soon.

Our PK4 (Preschool) program will be starting September 9^th. If you have a little one (or know of one) who is: already four (4), or will be four by September 1, and lives in the Congress District, please call the front office 928-427-9850 to sign them up.
