December 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Thank you for collaborating with your child to increase academic, physical, and social-emotional growth. It has been a great November full of learning and celebration. Truly, there is much to be thankful for as we are experiencing the holiday season.  Parents, supporters of the school, staff members, and board members make a difference by collaborating every day for Congress Elementary School students.

We appreciate you putting education high in your priorities. The On-Site/Virtual Honors Recognitions was held on Tuesday, November 10th. We want to recognize the parental efforts made towards having students ready for school every day. It is always nice to see Perfect Attendance Awards! We are very proud of every single child's accomplishments.

November was busy with events. Our MakerSpace Club, Embroidery/Cross-Stitching Club, and Fitness Club got off to a great start at the end of October and will wrap up by December 9th. Parent-Teacher Conferences were held on November 4thand 5th with almost 100% attendance either virtually or on-site. Also, a delicious family Thanksgiving meal was served by Mrs. Jimenez on November 19th.

The December month will pass quickly with only three weeks until Winter Break. Student Council is busy planning some very fun Spirit Days. Mid-Trimester is December 15 with Progress Reports going home Thursday, January 7, 2021.  Limited number of students on-site will continue through the third week in January. Based upon pandemic updates this decision may continue or change. For students who come on-site, a reminder to screen for the following daily before your child comes to school.
